Happy Easter

Easter Candles

Spring is coming fast and the weather has been beautiful these past couple days, which reminded me to plant the bulbs I bought recently. I can’t wait for the iris, lilies, and freesias to start and come up and give some life to my dead garden. I hear the birds chirping and just being in the garden listening to the birds, and smelling the flowers is the only time when I feel fully get relaxed.

These days many of us are getting ready to celebrate Easter. The festive atmosphere will reunite us in different ways, either making the eggs or going to church or eating that special meal that only your mom knows how to cook on this day. Greg and I are celebrating by making candles. The 100% essential oils that I am using for all of them are floral such as Lilac, Violet Lime so your place will smell wonderfully the same as outside.

Here are some of the candles that will have the chance to buy on my website Oohlalapetite.com

Striving for a peaceful, healthy and happy New Year

Today I was thinking about 2015, the year that is about to leave us and I can easily say that it was a good one. I can't say that it was the most successful one but it was a decent one. Success it is not always measured with money, it is often measured with the goals that one wants to achieve. One of our goals was to go back to Spain to meet my brother and my friends and Greg also wanted to see Barcelona. It is a very unique city for its architecture thanks to one of the greatest architecture, Gaudi, and it may one day be the city where Greg and I will live. We had a great time with everyone in Barcelona.

During Christmas, I really miss my mom and I wish I had her here. I am looking forward to the day where I will show her the city, the places I visit here and enjoy the most, walking the High Line or finding ourselves sitting somewhere in Central park. Although I did not have my mom this year, my very close friends, one that lives in Canada and the other one that lives in Albania came to NYC. We reunited after almost 15 years and it was interesting to see that in some ways we haven't changed at all and yet we are so different in others ways. Seeing them was refreshing and re-energizing.

Although not all of our goals this year have been fulfilled yet, we are still grateful that we have a wonderful family and friends supporting us on whatever we decide to do. We are very thankful that we enjoy what we do and hopefully you will also appreciate our creative and unique candles.

Recently I was working on this candle which is one of my favorite pieces because the colors of the flowers are so vivid and it reminds me each time I see it that life should be vivid, full of colors and turn that negativity into something positive.

On that note, stay tuned for our announcements in social media or in our blog for our upcoming events. The next one will be on the weekend of February 6-7th, 2016 @Artist and Fleas in Williamsburg.  More details to follow soon.

Here are some photos from yesterday, I hope you enjoy them. With that, I would like to wish you a healthy, peaceful and Happy New Year.

Lots of Love,

Eni and Greg

The most popular candle for this year

I wanted to share a few thoughts on our last couple of shows @artistfleas. They were a great success for our local and charming Ooh La La Petite Boutique. The beauty of the Artist and Fleas market in Williamsburg is that during the years it has become an attraction spot for many tourists looking for something unique, made in Brooklyn. Tourists from London, Barcelona, Bogota, Buenos Aires, Vienna, Munich, Bologna etc. stopped by our booth. It was so great to mingle with all the different cultures and speak many interesting languages, just a wonderful experience overall. However, I don’t to forget about my loyal American customers who came back to buy more of my candles. That was just so unbelievably great.

The 100% soy wax candles in teacups and mason jars were sold out by the last day of the show. Our customers were buying the teacups candles mainly for their dearest friends or family members and mason jars for themselves.

The number ONE candle was this Mason jar hand-painted in cooper and coated with green patina. I think this color can blend very well with any color or interior design.

The number TWO most favorite candles were the teacups. As there are very unique and one of the kind, they make a very special Christmas gift but also they can be great for housewarming, birthdays, St. Valentine Day and more.

The number THREE most popular was this Mason jar painted in bronze with a blue patina. It was more popular among male customers as the scents were more earthy and masculine.

Also the hand painted mason jar in green and red was very popular especially during these days where people are looking to buy something more Christmassy.

In the end I would say that we really enjoyed our time at the market and we are looking forward to go back the weekend before St. Valentines Day.

Happy Holidays everybody and wish you have a great time with your Family and Friends!

Lots of Love

E.
