Last week I made my first mask which, uses as the main ingredients French Clay Green and organic Spirulina. Before going ahead and explaining how easy is to make this mask, I would like to talk also about the properties of each ingredients used for this mask.
1 tsp French Green Clay
1 tsp Organic Spirulina
1 tsp Oatmeal powder
1 tsp Honey
10-15 drops Sweet Almond Oil
20 drops Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
I initially mixed the French Clay Green, Spirulina and Oatmeal Powder separately with Sweet Almond Oil and then mixed them together.
French Green Clay is beneficial for oily skin because of its natural purifying, deep cleansing, and drying action. While Spirulina has a high content of vitamin A, vitamin B-12, vitamin E, calcium, iron, and phosphorus. This will make your skin amazingly soft and smooth.
Sweet Almond Oil is known for its ability to soften and re-condition the skin. It is rich in proteins, Olein Glyceride Linoleic Acid and Vitamin D, and is considered extremely nourishing. It can be expected to sooth dry skin and irritated areas.
Oatmeal powder, I used some of the ones I buy for making granola for Greg. I poured a handful of oats in Vitamix and blended to a full speed. It came out pure powder. Oatmeal contains over a dozen amino acids, which are vital for building healthy skin tissue and for healing the skin. The skin will absorb these acids, which will help to heal minor imperfections, blemishes, and to help repair uneven skin tone.
Then I mixed the Organic Raw Honey with distilled water so I can easy mix the honey later with the other ingredients.
We all know about Organic Raw Honey, which is well known about its antibacterial properties for acne treatment and prevention and also known as an antioxidant and as extremely moisturizing and soothing.
I proceeded to mix all the ingredients together for while. You will see that French Clay Green dries very quickly. Since I didn’t want to use the mask immediately, I put it in the refrigerator for later use. When I went to check it later, the mask was already hardening because of the consistency of the clay in this mask changes rapidly. Don’t panic that you may loose all this work and all these expensive ingredients. I pored some Olive Oil (or if you want you can pour more water of Sweet Almond oil) and viola; the mask was ready to be used. Don’t forget to put the mask back in the refrigerator when you are finished, as this mask doesn’t have any preservatives. Next time I will use Vitamin E, which is a natural preservative.
I will start and make this mask upon requests as it is very delicate and should be used within certain time.
The prices for French Clay Green and Spirulina Mask are:
